We can’t think of many better ways to celebrate a birthday than curating an entire festival (so long as we don’t have to help out with loading gear in and out and all that rigmarole at any rate), so we’re pretty envious that Yoko Ono’s going to be doing just such a thing next year.

The former partner of Beatle John Lennon has been announced by London’s Meltdown Festival as their curator for the 2013 installment of the event, which traditionally takes place at the Southbank Centre in the UK’s capital city. According to the Daily Telegraph, Ono said: “I am deeply honored to curate the world-famous Meltdown Festival. In doing so I am aware of the great tradition of experimentalism mixed with classicism that has made the festival such an enduring part of the British arts landscape." She added "I am now starting to approach names from all over the world, some of whom you will know and some who might be new to your world. Let the fun begin!”

With Ono’s past in both the art and music scenes we can expect a diverse list of guests involved. See below to see who she joins as past curators of Meltdown.
