Artist and activist Yoko Ono has designed a special collection of crystal keys to spread her message of hope and peace.
John Lennon's widow has been commissioned by executives at Swarovski crystal jewellers to come up with the line, which is designed around the theme of "Unlocking the Door to a Better Life".
She says, "As an artist who has worked in many mediums, collaborating with Swarovski was an attractive proposition for me. In 1966 I created my first glass key piece, Glass Keys to Open The Skies, which, at that time, was only accessible to serious art collectors.
"I wanted to share my latest glass key concept, for Unlocking A Door To A Better Life, with the world. Knowing what fine cut crystal pieces Swarovski produces inspired me to design 2 pieces, A Key To Open The Forest and A Key To Open The Universe."
Each of the 1,300 pieces, which come in three different sizes, is engraved with Ono's signature and a limited edition number. The keys go on sale on Thursday (06Sep12) to mark New York's Fashion's Night Out event.
