'The Maze Runner' and 'Neighbors' also scooped awards.
It's difficult to argue with the results of this year's MTV Movie Awards victors, who took home their much-deserved accolades on Sunday (April 12th 2015). The top prize of Movie Of The Year went to Josh Boone's adaptation of the John Green novel 'The Fault In Our Stars' - but who else won big at the 2015 ceremony?
Shailene Woodley took home a couple of awards herself; first for Best Female Performance in 'The Fault In Our Stars', and second for Best Kiss with Ansel Elgort. 'The Maze Runner' star Dylan O'Brien also won big, landing Breakthrough Performance, Best Hero and, of course, Best Fight with Will Poulter. O'Brien will reprise his role in the upcoming sequel 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'. Meanwhile, Zac Efron's abs in 'Neighbors' predictably won him Best Shirtless Performance, while his onscreen chemistry with Dave Franco made them Best Duo. 'Neighbors' was also the winner of Best WTF Moment, with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne taking home the award.

The Hollywood pair have split up, but Efron apparently wants to reconcile with the 36 year-old actress.
Hollywood's most surprising couple, Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez, have reportedly decided to call it a day on their whirlwind relationship after a two-month long summer romance, which saw them party throughout Europe.
Rodriguez wanted to "do her own thing"
The acting duo decided to go their separate ways after they allegedly had a huge fight when vacationing in Ibiza, Spain, US Weekly reports. "Michelle is going to do her own thing. Zac knew this about her when he got with her," a source told the mag. "He's very into her though, and perhaps more than she's into him."

The 26 year-old actor tells Bear Grylls how his drug and alcohol issues first arose.
Zac Efron is one of Hollywood's most sought actors and has lived most of his life in the public eye. Although being such a successful star comes with many perks and rewards, there is undoubtedly a negative side to it, and the 26 year-old stud definitely had his fair share of both sides.
Efron has had to deal with alcohol and drug abuse issues
Efron entered a rehabilitation facility twice last year after his partying lifestyle was getting out of control, he received treatment for drug and alcohol abuse once these issues worsened when filming Seth Rogen's 'Bad Neighbours' in April 2013, as he began to frequently miss scheduled shooting days.

Michelle Rodriguez was spotted Zac Efron this week, mere months after separating from Cara Delevigne. Here's a quick look at her relationship history.
Michelle Rodriguez is well known for having an unusual and certainly prolific love life and she's recently been snapped kissing Zac Efron. But is Efron joining the ranks of men and women who have all fallen for the Fast & Furious actress.
Rodriguez has been romantically linked to numerous celebrities over the last decade.
Attractive people starting relationships is probably the best kind of Hollywood gossip and this week, Zac Efron and Michele Rodriguez top the bill.
Zac Efron and Michele Rodriguez – it’s fairly safe to say that noone was shipping this particular celebrity couple before it happened. What “it” means exactly, is still up for debate. All we know so far is that the pair got photographed in Sardinia recently, getting very cozy with each other, according to E! News.
Rodriguez [l] and Efron [r] are this week's surprise couple.
The pair were spotted enjoying each other’s company on a sailboat off the Italian coast, cuddling and generally canoodling. They took several dips in the turquoise Sardinian waters and, being all hip with the times, took several selfies to document the day.
The celebrity duo were spotted kissing and caressing each other while enjoying a boat trip at the sunny Italian island.
Zac Efron doesn't appear to be single anymore! The 26 year-old actor seems to be the latest person involved in the love life of Michelle Rodriquez.
Efron was spotted sharing a kiss with the 35 year-old actress while enjoying a vacation in Sardinia, Italy, on Saturday (July 5th). The unexpected couple were not shy in sharing PDA moments in front of their friends as they appeared to be constantly by each other's side.
Efron was spotted kissing Rodriguez
Michelle and Zac were spotted getting it on at the beach.
Michelle Rodriguez and Zac Efron have all but confirmed their romance with a very public display of affection on a beach inn Sardinia. The acting couple were spotted enjoying the summer sun and canoodling whilst on a yacht. The Daily Mail published photos of an iPad-brandishing Efron leaning in to smooch his new bikini-clad lover.
Their blatant PDA gives the signal that Rodriguez's relationship with model Cara Delevingne is well and truly over, as rumours had been suggesting for some time. The Fast & Furious actress looked to be having a wonderfully relaxing time as she basked in the sun's rays and enjoyed the company of her frisky new beau.
The couple couldn't resist fondling each other as they frolicked on the boat and took dips in the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Despite their amorous display, the pair weren't alone during their ocean jaunt and were seen hanging out with businessman Gianluca Vacchi and some female friends.
It was inevitable really: everybody loves a good monster.
Silence the doubters! Godzilla has smashed its way to the top of the box office, having earned a monstrous $93.2m on its first weekend. Gareth Edwards' gloomy new take on the popular Japanese tale of a radioactive monster put fellow opener Million Dollar Arm in the dark, leaving the Jon Hamm Disney sports drama a token $10.5 million.
'Godzilla' Stormed Its Way To Box Office No.1 This Weekend With A $93 Million Opening.
Meanwhile, the Zac Efron-starring comedy Neighbors was pushed down to second in its second week with nearly $26 million in takings - a figure far shy of Godzilla's monster haul - whilst the superhero action sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, clung on to the top three with a confident third week figure of $16.8 million.
There's a blast of raucous energy to this lively comedy that sets it apart from the pack; aside from a willingness to get deeply rude and incorrect, the movie is actually very funny. It helps that it's packed with snappy characters and witty dialogue, and that the cast makes the gratuitously vulgar humour come to life in surprising ways.
It opens with happy couple Mac and Kelly (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne), whose idyllic life with their ridiculously cute baby is interrupted when a frat house moves in next door. They want to be cool about it, so introduce themselves and nicely ask the fraternity leaders Teddy and Pete (Zac Efron and Dave Franco) to keep it down. They even indulge in a bit of partying themselves. But the noise only gets louder, and when Mac and Kelly call the cops in a moment of desperation, they spark a war that escalates into a series of crazy practical jokes. This also gets the fraternity in trouble with their university administrator (Lisa Kudrow), which only fuels the battle.
Director Nicholas Stoller (The Five-Year Engagement) keeps things moving briskly, packing every scene with shamelessly coarse humour. For every joke that falls flat (like a breast-feeding set-piece), there are five more gags immediately following that generate gut-busting laughter. While the plot is little more than a series of elaborate pranks, there's an unstoppable momentum that builds to a riotous party climax. Even more important is the way the actors are allowed to twist their stereotypical characters to add some meaningful subtext.

If 'Neighbors' over-performs, and Spider-Man drops 50%, Seth Rogen could find himself top of the box-office.
The critical derision directed towards The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wasn't enough to stop Sony pulling in $95 million last week, though its long campaign to reach the heights of the original movie may falter this weekend when Seth Rogen and Zac Efron's acclaimed comedy Neighbors makes its bow.

Can anyone really replace John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in 'Grease', we have a few ideas...
This week Fox announced that they would be airing a three hour live broadcast of Grease next year. Lets think for a minute about what that means, Grease is coming back and there’ll be a whole new cast! Now there’s been no official announcements yet about who might be starring, but for us, that means it's a perfect oppourtunity to compile our dream Grease cast.
Could Zac Efron be Danny?

Zac Efron and Lupita Nyong'o have long been rumoured to be joining the 'Star Wars: Episode VII' cast. Does JJ Abrams casting announcement on Tuesday really count them out, or is there still (a new) hope?
Zac Efron and Lupita Nyong’o had both been heavily tipped to be joining the cast of Star Wars Episode VII. So, imagine our surprise when the cast was announced earlier this week but their names weren’t on the list! Although Jj Abrams has announced a string of actors billed to appear in his upcoming movie, there are rumours that the casting announcement isn’t yet complete. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Abrams “has another substantial role to fill - and it’s a female part.” How much truth there is to this report is obviously debatable, but we do know that there’s been strong evidence suggesting both Nyong’o and Efron will be joining the cast.
Is the Episode VII cast complete, or will there be a second announcement?
Nyong’o was reported to have met with director Abrams in March when they discussed the Oscar-winning actress playing one of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s offspring. Lupita is probably the hottest actress around at the moment, fresh off her Academy Award win for her performance in 12 Years a Slave. Although Lupita met with Abrams in March, she hasn’t been the only female actress rumoured to have landed a role in Episode VII. Newcomer Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ name has also cropped up a few times. It’s not too unlikely for a fairly unknown actress to be cast, since relatively unheard of Daisy Ridley was announced as a main cast member on Tuesday.

'Plastic' is a terrible movie.
Will Poulter. You know Will Poulter. He won a BAFTA. He was the rap-singing teen in We're The Millers - which was actually quite good. But now he's made a bad movie. Which is fine. But we're going to need to tell you about it, in case you go and waste £9.60 this weekend.
Will Poulter [R] Stars in 'Plastic'
It's called Plastic, and follows the story of Sam & Fordy who run a credit card fraud scheme. However, when they steal money from the wrong guy, they find themselves threatened by a scary and downright sadistic gangster. Somehow, the pair must raise £5 million and pull off a daring diamond heist to clear the debt.

The critics are feeling positive about Rogen v Efron
Part frat comedy, part coming-of age-story, part-generational warfare and part slapstick comedy, ‘Bad Neighbors’ portrays a battle between the middle class utopia that is suburban America, and the rebellious, newly freed ethos adopted by a particularly vitriolic fraternity. It’s Efron v Rogen.
Zac Efron in 'Bad Neighbours'
The obvious contrast here is that of the Hollywood hunk and the alternative geek; Rogen has carved out a strong and reliable fan base with movies like Superbad and Pineapple Express, even if the critics aren’t always on his side. While Mr. Braff is certainly trying to mould his career towards serous dramatic roles, while comedy stints like this – for an young-adult audience – are certainly… well paid.

Speculation is already rife after the brief first announcement.
Earlier this year, NBC’s The Sound of Music Live! TV musical starring Carrie Underwood received largely mixed reviews, but apparently it was good enough for Fox to give it a go as well. The network has ordered a three hour live broadcast of the classic musical to air sometime in 2015. Much like The Sound of Music, this live TV event will be based on the original Broadway musical, staged in 1971, as well as the 1978 film starrng John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. With $400 million in worldwide profits to date, Grease is by far the biggest grossing movie musical of all time. The adapted version will feature a cast of young actors (naturally), but so far, no casting decisions have been made. The production partners will also be announced at a later date.
Online speculation immediately attached Efron's name to the project.
"From Broadway to film, and across generations, Grease is one of the most beloved musical stories ever told -- and we can't wait to bring it to our air in a spectacular live event," Shana C. Waterman, senior vp event series at Fox, said for The Hollywood Reporter. "Its iconic characters and addictive songs make it the perfect fit for Fox, and we’re going to give it the kind of star power and production quality to make every Sandy, Danny, Rizzo and Kenickie out there want to get up and sing along."
When asked about the possibility of playing the classic musical's iconic role of Danny Zuko, the 26 year-old actor stated: "Those are big shoes to fill."
Since news broke that Fox is going to bring back to life the classic musical 'Grease' for a live TV musical, many have wondered who will star in it.
One of the names that has been thrown around is Zac Efron as a candidate to play the iconic character Danny Zuko, which John Travolta played in the 1978 film.
It is easy to imagine the 26 year-old heartthrob in the role, and with his past experience starring in the 'High School Musical' franchise, he would be a perfect fit.
Apparently the leak wasn't that terrible, since there have been no lawsuits.
Lindsay Lohan really did write down her now infamous list of lovers, which has been providing gossip fodder for a couple of weeks now. But she didn’t do it for the reasons you think. It turns out that Lohan jotted down the thirty or so names, while she was in rehab, as part of her therapy. So said Lohan herself, speaking out about the list on Watch What Happens Live. When questioned by Andy Cohen during the show’s Plead the Fifth segment, Lohan played coy at first.
It sounds like the list is a reminder of times now past for Lohan.
"I cannot confirm or deny it," she said.

Despite his turbulent year, Efron obviously still has his sense of humor.
If you’re looking for a general MTV Movie Awards rundown, let us point you in that direction. This post deals almost exclusively with Zac Efron’s abs because we all need more of that in our lives. When Zefron won the award for best shirtless performance (for his role in "That Awkward Moment") during Sunday's show, there was only one suitable course of action. Speeches were pointless, when fans really wanted to see just one thing from the actor.
Efron looked much more dapper at the Oscars, but we might prefer the MTV Awards look.
So he obliged.

Zac Efron's friends are worried for his wellbeing, but he just doesn't want to hear it.
Last week the 26 year-old actor hit headlines after finding himself in a fight with a group of homeless men in a run-down part of Los Angeles.
The incident took place after midnight in Skid Row, under the Habor Freeway, and a patrolling police car spotted Efron fending off the three unidentified individuals along with his bodyguard.

Zac Efron's latest incident his just another event in what's been a troubled year for the actor.
This week Zac Efron found himself in the headlines again, after he was involved in a fight in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles on Sunday. According to reports Efron was punched in the face during the scuffle, which allegedly started after he threw a bottle out of his car window and it smashed on the pavement near a group of homeless men. Many are questioning though just why Zac happened to be in this notoriously dodgy part of L.A., especially after the year he's just had which included a rehab stint for cocaine addiction.
Zac Efron was attacked in Skid Row on Sunday
It was Disney’s ‘High School Musical’ films that made Efron a star when he played Troy Bolton, the basketball player who also had a penchant for singing. The part might have made him a household name but it was a character he knew he had to break free from if he was to make the transition from teen actor to movie star. In 2007 he earned positive reviews for his performance in the remake of ‘Hairspray' but his next outing the 'High School Musical' sequel had him back in the public consciouness as Troy, more than ever before. The next year he starred in what is the last 'High School Musical' movie to date, 'High School Musical 3: Senior Year'.

But that doesn't mean the 26 year-old has forgotten what made him into a star.

Four days into the conference, there's already a lot to be excited about.
For those who care about films in the slightest, South by Southwest is the place to be this week. The conference, which runs March 7th through March 16th in Austin, Texas, is the place for enthusiasts to see the latest films, get album previews and generally have tons of fun. So, four days into SXSW, what are the highlights?
The VM cast was out in full force at SXSW.
First of all, there was Seth Rogen and Zac Efron’s Neighbors, which pits Rogen against Efron in a battle for dominance over a suburban street. In this comedy, directed by Nicholas Stoller from a script by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, Rogen plays one half of a newly married couple, who are just settling into their cozy suburban nest. Efron and his band of frat boys, however, are there to ruin everything. According to THR, Neighbors got big laughs at its Paramount Theater premiere, so it might be one to look out for later in the year.
As the cast takes shape, tension is heightened for the highly anticipated reboot
The Star Wars: Episode VII train rumbles on. Scripts issues have been settled; shooting dates and locations have been verified and finally agreed upon. Now it’s time to build up an unforgettable cast and not ruin the legendary sci-fi franchise forever.
Would you be happy with an Efron-starring Star Wars film?
Former Disney star Zac Efron is the latest high-profile star to be linked with a role, and he didn’t do much to douse those flames of intrigue by confirming a meeting between he and his former employers took place.
Even a strongly likeable cast can't breathe life into this ill-conceived film, which poses as a sex comedy but is ultimately timid and sappy. The premise is intriguing enough to catch our interest, but it ends up being three badly written romantic-comedies woven together in a way that makes them neither romantic nor comedic.
The story strands centre on three best buddies enjoying their late-20s in New York. Jason (Efron) is the womaniser, breaking up the moment any girl begins to get serious. Daniel (Teller) is the clown, using humour to find women, usually with the help of his friend Chelsea (Davis). And Mikey (Jordan) is the responsible one, a medical doctor happily married to Vera (Lucas). Except that she leaves him, prompting Jason and Daniel to promise to stay single with him in solidarity. Then instantly, each of them finds himself in a relationship: Jason falls for wild-girl Ellie (Poots), Daniel realises that he's in love with Chelsea, and Mikey secretly tries to get Vera back.
The problem is that there's very little chemistry between any of the characters. Not only are the love stories strained and implausible, but the bromance never even gets off the ground because filmmaker Gormican is clearly terrified of any kind of male affection. He's also not very good at depicting sexuality, with only a couple of scenes played for comedy value. In fact, all of the film's sharp edges have been surgically removed, leaving only the illusion of gross-out humour.

The movie, which boosts the cast of Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller, can translate to today's society as it depicts the complex and tricky world of dating for young adults in a big city. But things definitely became 'awkward' when Efron was caught off guard with a question from the show's anchor Savannah Guthrie.

Zac and Seth pose for 'Bound 4' to squeeze out a few more laughs.
Zac Efron has joined in the fun of spoofing Kanye West's new music video, 'Bound 2,' by posting his own version of the cheesy scene on Instagram. The real 'Bound 2' was released last week showing Kanye and his topless fiancée Kim Kardashian riding a motorbike through mountains and sunsets. Naturally the video was an open invitation for parodies and we were quickly given Seth Rogen and James Franco's hilarious 'Bound 3.'
Efron Has Joined In The 'Bound 2' Spoofing.
This starry drama has documentary realism going for it, although without a single well-developed character it never finds any resonance. By recounting JFK's assassination from a variety of previously unseen angles, we learn some new things about that fateful day in November 1963. Oddly, the script doesn't even focus on the hospital that gives the film its name. That might have helped give the film some focus.
We watch the shooting in Dallas through the eyes of Abraham Zapruder (Giamatti), famously the only person to capture the event on film. He is immediately contacted by a Secret Service agent (Thornton), who helps him process the film and make copies. Meanwhile at Parkland Hospital, two residents (Efron and Hanks) and a tenacious nurse (Harden) are working against the odds to save Kennedy's life. And elsewhere, an FBI agent (Livingston) is following the trail of the shooter, whose brother and mother (Dale and Weaver) have very different reactions to what has just happened.
Writer-director Landesman jumps straight into the events without properly establishing the characters. But it's impossible to feel emotion when we don't know anything about the people we're watching, and we can't feel suspense when we know what's going to happen. So we're left to soak up the details, which are often fascinating (ever wonder how to get a coffin into a plane?). And while the actors are good enough to play the intensity of each scene for all it's worth, the only ones who register with us are Giamatti and Dale, because what their characters go through is more complex than we expect.

If there's no clear cut message between two people who like other, nobody knows where they stand, what to say or when to call. Jason, Daniel and Mikey go through just that when all three find themselves with girlfriends that they aren't quite sure are really girlfriends. None of them are planning on settling into a relationship, especially since Mikey has only just come out of one, but things take an unforeseen turn when Jason meets Ellie who he wants to spend all of his time with and finds himself being accused of having a girlfriend. Pretty soon though, Daniel also finds his feelings are deepening for Chelsea and Mikey still has a lot of emotions to overcome. Even when their love lives start becoming less complicated, they find themselves struggling to adapt to monogamous lives.
This romantic comedy deals with the all too real circumstances of fledgling love. It has been directed and written by Tom Gormican (co-producer of 'Movie 43') in his directorial and screenwriting debut, and production was undertaken by Scott Aversano ('School of Rock', 'Killers'), Justin Nappi ('All Is Lost'), Andrew O'Connor ('Peep Show') and Kevin Turen. 'That Awkward Moment' is set to be released in the UK on January 31st 2014.
We take a look at the three front-runners and their chances.
Three films go head to head this weekend, all with reasonable claim to the top spot. But will the audiences go for a historical to learn about the demise of JFK; head for the stars with Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck or be sucked in by Gravity’s delightful pull.
Colin Hanks and Zac Efron in Parkland
Despite some mediocre reviews, Parkland strings together some attractive qualities: a bona fide history lesson, a great cast and, of course, Zac Efron’s face, which has proven to be a marketable asset up until now, so why would that change now? There are two things that mean Parkland won’t be top of the box office come Monday.

Zac Efron managed to get away with quietly slipping into rehab, completing his stint and re-entering normal society all without any serious news hitting the gossip headlines.
