They're just on the set of their new film Are We Officially Dating? but boy howdy can you spot the chemistry between Zac Efron and his co-star Imogen Poots. The film is set in Manhattan and follows three Big Apple bachelors - including one played by High School Musical star Efron - as they enjoy living it up as singletons in New York. However, this wouldn't be a romantic tale without a big obvious twist, and so it does, with Efron's character meeting Poots' and the protagonist being forced to decide whether he'll carry on playing around at being one of the Lads, or whether he'll give into love. I think we all know which way that one's going don't we.
It looked pretty brisk out in Manhattan, but spirits were arm as Efron and Poots clowned around
However, even if that plot does sound like the recipe for a real stinker, then you can't deny that at least the rapport between the two leading stars looks genuine, and if the film does fail it won't be for the lack of feeling on either's part. As the Daily Mail points out, Poots is currently in a relationship, and her fella might well be feeling jealous looking at these pictures. Thankfully though the cameras were always rolling as the two actors indulged in their character's affections for each other.
Like The Jonas Brothers before him, Efron is in the tricky transitional phase of his career. The 25 year-old is now too old to be the protege that wowed teenage arts on High School Musical, but at the moment he hasn't yet managed to find a role to really suggest he's got what it takes to become a star in the adult acting world. We're not too sure this is going to be the one either, but at least he looks like he's having fun doing it.
