Whilst Henry Whipple (Quaid) wants his son Dean (Efron) to take a stake in the family business, Dean just wants to race cars. Add into the mix a love triangle, involving Mr & Mrs Whipple and Heather Graham’s character Meredith and you’re in for some pretty intense and terse dramatic scenes. "Race cars are Dean’s escape from the mundane,” said Efron, who admits: “To be honest, racing scared the heck out of me. However, we had great instructors and after a few laps, I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Driving the rally car through the cornfield was insane.”

At Any Price is written and directed by Ramin Bahrani (Chop Shop) and was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 69th Venice International Film Festival. It was later screened as an official selection at the Telluride Film Festival and the 2012 Toronto Film Festival. The film has been purchased by Sony Pictures Classics and will now be released later this year, in April 2013. The Telluride Film Festival Guide described the movie as "a harrowing journey into the modern, post-Monsanto farm belt. This is a place where the pressures on farmers to 'expand or die'... and to rat out their neighbors creates a world in which good men find themselves resorting to desperate measures to maintain their hold on the land and a way of life that is falling apart.”
