Many superhero fans have been waiting for this moment, the unveiling of the title of the ‘Man of Steel’ sequel, which will feature Batman and Superman. The upcoming epic is officially called ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’

Snyder will direct the upcoming superhero epic

The Zack Snyder-directed flick has also made a start on principle photography on Wednesday (May 21st) in Detroit, Warner Bros. announced. The filming locations for the movie will be Africa, the South Pacific and Illinois.

Henry Cavill is returning to reprise the role of Superman, whereas Ben Affleck will play Batman for the first time, replacing Christian Bale who portrayed the caped crusader in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy.

Earlier this month (May 12th) Snyder teased fans with a sneak peak of the Batmobile, he took to Twitter to share the snap of the famed vehicle Affleck will be driving in the film.

“Could be time to pull the tarp...Tomorrow?" the 48 year-old filmmaker wrote along with a dark photo of the back of the Batmobile, which is only visible as the rest of it is covered by a black tarp.

Several days later another first-look photograph was posted online, the 41-year-old was posing in his batsuit while standing next to the Batmobile. The gritty pic suggests that Affleck is definitely playing an aged superhero, most likely from Frank Miller's four-part comic book The Dark Knight Rises.

The ‘Argo’ actor wasn’t a popular choice for the popular role amongst fanboys, but he isn’t letting the negative reaction phase him, which was obvious during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"When you get into the arena of those kinds of movies, these superhero movies, particularly ones that are working with characters that everyone's known for so long, everybody's got these strongly held opinions and preconceived ideas about what it should be," he said. "At the same time, I don't think projections about something that hasn't happened yet are all that meaningful.”

"I think at the end of the day, it's like any other movie or project: You go out and make it great, people will say it's great. If you go out and miss, you'll hear about it,” Affleck continued. "The stuff beforehand is kind of just the noise that happens."
