Zayn Malik has asked fans to stop abusing him online.

The former One Direction star has faced a tirade of abuse since arguing with ex-bandmate Louis Tomlinson on Twitter, but has insisted he hasn't done anything wrong and still loves his fans.

He wrote on Twitter: ''Don't know why I'm being attacked for defending myself , people got it twisted! I love my fans ?! Every single one of you x (sic).''

The tweet comes just a day after the 22-year-old singer publicly lashed out at Louis for feuding with producer Naughty Boy - whose real name is Shahid Khan - who is working with Zayn on his solo material.

Responding to negative comments made towards the producer by the 'Story of My Life' hitmaker, Zayn wrote: ''remember when you had a life and stopped making b***hy comments about mine?''

Following Zayn's tweet, Naughty Boy added fuel to the fire by saying the 23-year-old singer has no vocal ability.

The 'La La La' producer responded: ''And some people can't even sing.. but who's complaining when there's auto tune eh (sic).''

However, the 'Night Changes' singer - who is also a footballer for Doncaster Rovers - continued to insult the musician and accused him of ''riding on the back'' of his former pal's career.

He wrote: ''Jesus forgot you were such an in demand producer .... How does it feel to be riding on the back of someone else's career ?

''I think we've done alright in terms of sales and I've happened to write on most. Keep trying ! (sic)''
