Zayn Malik has dyed his hair white.

The former One Direction singer has changed the colour of his locks several times in the last few days, including sporting vivid green and orange tints, but has now opted for a much paler tone.

Zayn revealed his new style in a picture on Twitter and Instagram which was captioned: ''White Hair''.

Soon afterwards, he added: ''Had it purple yesterday ha trying em all out ha (sic)''

However, there is no photographic evidence his purple phase.

The pop star sparked a frenzy at the weekend when his fiancee Perrie Edwards posted a picture of the pair and Zayn's freshly dyed green locks with the caption ''#GreenHairDontCare (sic)''.

The hashtag began trending on social media sites and followers across the platforms posted memes and pictures of themselves with similar hair.

His colour-changing experiments come a few months after Zayn shed his long locks in favour of a close-cropped style.

The 22-year-old singer reportedly decided to shave his hair as a ''cleansing ritual'' in April following his departure from the chart-topping band.

A source said at the time: ''Zayn decided to shave his head as a cleansing ritual after all he's been through. He felt it signified a fresh start, and again distances him from his boy band days when he had floppy hair.''

And despite his shorter locks attracting a lot of attention, the 'Little Things' singer wasn't ''bothered'' about people's opinions.

A source said: ''He's actually shaved his head before, and he thinks it suits him. So he's not bothered what people think about it, to be honest. It's very easy to manage and requires very little effort.''
