The Monster Trailer

You wouldn't call Kathy the best mother in the world. She's far from responsible when it comes to her teenage daughter Lizzy. Luckily, Lizzy is extremely mature for her age, but that doesn't mean she can take care of herself. Kathy is forced to drive them to her father's home in the middle of the night after sleeping late, but the night brings with it something much worse than heavy rain. They wind up in an accident after failing to miss a wolf in the middle of the road and call 911 for assistance. However, they're not so sure that what they hit was a wolf anymore after its body disappears from the road and leaves behind a fang that is much too large for any regular canine creature. A mechanic arrives and urges them to stay in the car until the ambulance arrives, but when he vanishes too they start to realise that there's something out there hellbent on their destruction.

'What If': We Now Know That Daniel Radcliffe Does Indie Rom-Coms, Well

Daniel Radcliffe Zoe Kazan Adam Driver

Daniel Radcliffe is eliciting another couple of thousand words this week, on whether he can safely navigate a "post-Harry Potter" movie career. The reason for this is What If - a new indie romantic-comedy starring the Wizard Boy himself as medical school dropout Wallace who's been repeatedly burned by bad relationships.

Daniel Radcliffe Zoe KazanDaniel Radcliffe [L] and Zoe Kazan [R] in 'What If'

It's got all the hallmarks of a sort of...new...(500) Days of Summer. It's got the cool guy from Girls (Adam Driver), who plays Wallace's roommate Allan. It's got the cool girl from Ruby Sparks (Zoe Kazan), who plays an animator living with her steady long-term boyfriend. The thing is: Wallace forms an instant connection with Kazan's character - but can they ever be just friends? Yep, so it all sounds horrendously formulaic - but isn't that what we want from our indie romantic comedies? We want Brooklyn apartments that the characters couldn't ever afford in real life. We want coffee shops and skinny lattes and little dogs and Adam Driver and maybe, just maybe, we want Daniel Radcliffe.

Ruby Sparks, Trailer

Ruby Sparks tells the story of a successful young novelist who starts to suffer from writer's block. Eventually, though, Calvin makes a huge development and invents Ruby Sparks; a beautiful, red-headed female character who he begins to fall madly in love with - despite her being a figment his imagination. or so he thinks. A week later he finds her casually sprawled on his couch and although Calvin tries to pass her off as the hallucinations of an over-active imagination, it soon becomes clear that his words have manifested themselves into a real-life person. More accurately, a real-life love interest.

Me And Orson Welles Review

Very Good
While this feels like an autobiographical coming-of-age movie, it's actually a fictional story set among real people. And it's brought to vibrant life by a superb performance from McKay as Orson Welles.

Richard (Efron) is a 17-year-old wannabe in 1937 New York, determined to get into the groundbreaking Mercury Theatre company run by 22-year-old genius Orson Welles (McKay). When he stumbles into a role in their landmark production of Julius Caesar, Richard can't believe his luck. He's working alongside such ascending stars as George Coulouris (Chaplin), John Houseman (Marsan), Muriel Brassler (Reilly), Jopseph Cotton (Tupper) and Norman Lloyd (Bill). And he feels even more fortunate when Orson's hard-to-get assistant Sonja (Danes) agrees to go out with him.
