ZZ Top have delayed the first week of their upcoming summer tour to allow bassist Dusty Hill to undergo surgery.

The rocker needs to have two kidney stones removed, and his doctor has advised him to undergo the procedure as soon as possible.

The surgery is scheduled to take place later this week (ends25Jul14) and he is expected to make a full recovery after 14 days of rest.

As a result, the trio's dates in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania have been axed and ZZ Top will kick off the summer trek in Sturgis, South Dakota on 6 August (14), before hitting the road with Jeff Beck.
