Fact: Rockers The Libertines thrilled fans by unveiling a new song during their performance at Scotland's T In The Park festival on Saturday night (11Jul15). The band has not played the event since 2004, and they marked their return to the stage by debuting new song Fame and Fortune, from their upcoming album Anthems For Doomed Youth. The set also featured a bizarre incident when co-frontman Pete Doherty took the band offstage for several minutes for a "pep talk" before returning to complete their performance.
Fact: Guitar great Carlos Santana, Swedish Dj Avicii, rapper Wyclef Jean and Brazilian singer Alexandre Pires have been chosen to perform the closing anthem at the upcoming soccer World Cup tournament in Brazil this summer (14). The stars will collaborate on the track Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way) at the closing ceremony of the sports event in Rio de Janeiro on 13 July (14).
Fact: Dance producers including Avicii, Armin Van Buuren and Kaskade have teamed up to create an album of remixed tunes from Disney classics. Fact: Swedish Dj Avicii has scored a third week at the top of the British singles chart - his Wake Me Up has held off a charge from soul singer John Newman, while Robin Thicke's Blurred lines is unmoved at three on the new countdown. Welsh classical singers Richard and Adam Johnson claimed the number one on the album chart with their debut The Impossible Dream. The pair finished third in the Britain's Got Talent Tv contest.
