Aurora - Cure For Me Audio Stream

It’s been quite a productive year for Norwegian singer Aurora so far, and now she’s released yet another new song entitled ‘Cure For Me’. 

In February and March, she released a series of five compilation EPs entitled ‘For the Humans Who Take Long Walks In the Forest’, ‘Music for the Fellow Witches’, ‘Music for the Free Spirits’, ‘Stories’ and ‘For the Metal People’. The releases were to celebrate her incredible 2015 single ‘Runaway’ surpassing an impressive 100 million streams on Spotify.

Aside from ‘The Secret Garden’ from the 2020 film of the same name and non-album singles ‘Exist for Love’ and ‘Stjernestøv’, ‘Cure For Me’ is her first new material since the release of her 2019 album ‘A Different Kind Of Human’.

“The first seed of inspiration came from thinking about the countries where it’s still legal to do conversion therapy for gay people and lesbians”, she told NME. “The first idea was me saying, ‘I don’t need a cure for me – just let me live, man!’

“Why is it so difficult for people to just let others be themselves? Then I thought that it could mean many other things. People tend to believe quite quickly that something is wrong with them if they’re not like the people they see in front of them”.
