Cheryl Cole - (born Cheryl Tweedy, 30.6.1983) Cheryl is a British pop star. She rose to fame as a member of Girls Aloud and was married to the England footballer Ashley Cole from July 2006 to September 2010.

Childhood: Cheryl was born and raised in the Heaton area of Newcastle upon Tyne. She has one brother, two half-brothers and a half-sister. Cheryl took up dancing as a child and also won a number of modelling contests. Among other contests, she won the Boots Group's Bonniest Baby contest, the Mothercare Happy Faces Portrait contest and The Evening Chronicle's 'Little Miss and Mister' and the 'Most Attractive Girl' at the Metro Centre. She also appeared in two British Gas adverts as well as an Eldon Square Christmas advert (which her younger brother Garry also appeared in). When she was nine years old, Cheryl attended the Royal Ballet summer school.
Pop Music Career: In 2002, Cheryl auditioned for the 2002 series of Popstars The Rivals. She sang 'Have You Ever?' by S Club 7 and became the first contestant to be chosen for the group Girls Aloud. Despite not winning the series, Girls Aloud went on to become one of Britain's most successful pop groups of the early 21st century. The other members of the group are Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, and Nicola Roberts.
Whilst filming Passions of Girls Aloud, Cheryl took street-dancing lessons. She was soon chosen to appear in a music video for 'Heartbreaker', the solo single for Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas. She was also asked to sing backing vocals on the track. The track reached number four on the UK singles chart.
Following the success of Girls Aloud, Cheryl announced in April 2009 that she intends to launch a solo career and that she would release a solo album before Girls Aloud's next album, scheduled for 2010. This album was called 3 Words and featured her first solo single 'Fight For This Love'. This led to her being given a one-off television program called Cheryl Cole's Night which included her singing numerous tracks and some of her favorite artists performing.
Cheryl's second album was released in October 2010 and it was titled Messy Little Raindrops. On its release this album made it to number one in the UK and number two in Ireland. It featured vocals from Dizzee Rascal, Travie McCoy and Will.i.am. In 2012 Cheryl released her third studio album A Million Lights selling 34,934 copies in its first week. The single Call my name which features on the album became Cheryl's third number one single in the UK. After the release of this album she announced her first solo concert tour which started in October 2012.
In 2012 Cheryl also reunited with Girls Aloud for their 10th anniversary reunion and released a few different tracks with them, they produced a documentary and went on the Ten:The hits tour to celebrate. In 2014, Cheryl released the name of her fourth studio album as Only Human where she describes songs on the album as 'very fun pop'. After the release of this album Cheryl cemented herself a new record of being the first female in Britain to have five solo number ones.
TV Personality: In 2008, Cheryl Cole was chosen to replace Sharon Osbourne as a judge of X Factor. Cole won the first series. She was given the Girls category and Alexandra Burke won the series, in that category. Cole was also selected to return in the sixth series of the show. She joined Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh on the judging panel. She also had involvement on the US version of the X Factor. In 2014 she returned to the UK X Factor as a judge alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Mel B and was the mentor for the girl's category again. Cheryl then returned the following year for the twelfth series (2015) where she was joined by Cowell, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw where she mentored the groups and guided Reggie 'n' Bollie into second place.
Personal Life: In January 2003, not long after Girls Aloud had shot to national recognition, Cheryl was arrested following an incident with a toilet attendant at Guildford's 'The Drink' nightclub (now known as 'Harpers'). She was charged with racially aggravated assault but, at trial, was only found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She was sentenced to 120 hours of community service and was also required to pay the victim, Sophie Amogbokpa £500.
Cheryl married the footballer Ashley Cole in London on July 2006. Media reports of Ashley Cole's infidelity have hampered their marriage and for some time, Cheryl refused to wear her wedding ring.

In 2014 after dating Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini for three months the couple got married and the singer changed her name to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini however she proceeded to use the mononym Cheryl for her music releases.
In 2015 Cheryl ended her relationship with Jean-Bernard and is said to have dated One Direction singer Liam Payne as of 2016.
