With his self-titled fourth album being released this week, Vince Staples drops a new lyric video for his latest single ‘Are You With That?’.
The song, produced by Reske and Kenny Beats, sees Staples reflecting on his past and his dreams that never involved long-term plans when he needed to feed himself. Meanwhile, the album comes three years after the release of his critically acclaimed ‘FM!’ and features the previously released lead single ‘Law of Averages’.
“It really gives much more information about me that wasn’t out there before”, he said in a statement. “That’s why I went with that title. I feel like I’ve been trying to tell the same story. As you go on in life, your point of view changes. This is another take on myself that I might not have had before.”
The rapper is also set to release more material soon in the form of another album entitled ‘Ramona Park Broke My Heart’.
“I’m a mind more than I am an entertainer to a lot of people”, he added. “I appreciate that my fanbase is willing to go on this ride with me. I’m ready to diversify what we’re doing and see how we affect the world.”
‘Vince Staples’ is set for release on July 9th 2021 through Blacksmith Recordings, Motown Records and EMI Records.
