Emma Stone (born Emily Stone in 06.11.1988) Emma Stone is an American actress known for her roles in 'Zombieland', 'Easy A', 'The Help' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

Childhood: Emma Stone was born in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her parents were Krista and Jeff who was a contractor. She attended Sequoya Elementary School and Cocopah Middle School while being a member of the Valley Youth Theatre. She was then home schooled for two years while she appeared in plays with the theatre group. She attended Xavier College Preparatory but dropped out in the first year in order to move to LA and continue her acting career while she was home schooled.

Acting Career: Emma Stone's first television role was for the pilot episode of 'The New Partridge Family' 2005. She won the role after appearing on VH1 talent show 'In Search of the New Partridge Family'. Her first regular role was on Fox drama 'Drive' in which she starred as Violet Trimble. She auditioned for 'Heroes' put lost the part to Hayden Panettiere. Her feature film debut came with the 2007 comedy 'Superbad' in which she played Jonah Hill's character's love interest. She learned bass to play band member Amelia in 2008's 'The Rocker' and appeared as a sorority president in 'The House Bunny'. In 2009, she played the title character in 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' and starred alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson in 'Zombieland'. In 2010, she voiced Mazie in 'Marmaduke' and had a leading role in the comedy 'Easy A' alongside Amanda Bynes for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe. She worked with the 'Easy A' director, Will Gluck, again in 2011's 'Friends with Benefits' and had starring roles in 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' and 'The Help' that same year. 2012 saw Emma play Gwen Stacy in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' where she met her current boyfriend Andrew Garfield. She is yet to appear in 2013 movies 'The Croods' as the voice of main character cavegirl Eep and 'Gangster Squad'.

Personal Life: Emma Stone is in a relationship with Andrew Garfield who worked with her on 'The Amazing Spider-Man'. Her husky voice is due to a baby colic she had whereby her persistent screaming and crying caused her to have calluses on her vocal cords. She now lives in Greenwich Village, New York City.

Emma Stone has opened up to her best friend Jennifer Lawrence about social media, turning 30 and having children in a new interview they conducted together for the new edition of Elle magazine.

The two Oscar winners sat down together recently, and Lawrence grilled Stone about her career thus far and her hopes for the future.

Reflecting on her ascent to fame, which peaked with last year’s Best Actress Oscar for her role opposite Ryan Gosling in La La Land, she thought back to her teenage years.

Could Emma Stone's 'Cruella' Movie Be A Period Piece?

Reports are suggesting the film will be set in 1979 London.

Disney are really putting some time and effort into their slew of planned live-action releases at the moment, having seen huge success with past films such as 'The Jungle Book' and 'Beauty and the Beast'. Though the majority of those in the works are new takes on classic stories, there are a handful being made that will be completely original, in the vein of the Angelina Jolie-led film 'Maleficent', which dropped back in 2014.

One of those is 'Cruella', which looks to tell the origins story of the 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians' villain. Emma Stone has been confirmed to take the titular role, but aside from that, there haven't been too many announcements regarding what we should expect.

Battle Of The Sexes Review

Excellent

A dramatisation of the real-life clash between tennis icons Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, this film is much more than a skilful re-enactment. It's a witty and insightful exploration of the kind of person who chases sporting success and global fame, even when the odds are stacked against them. And it's sharply well-played by Emma Stone and Steve Carell, who bring out the humour and pathos in their characters and the rivalry between them.

In the early 1970s, Billie Jean (Stone) has finally had enough of being treated as a second-class member of the tennis world, since women win just an eighth of what male players get. But the head of the tennis association (Bill Pullman) refuses to budge, so Billie Jean and her publicist (Sarah Silverman) start their own rival ladies' league. Meanwhile, former champion Bobby (Carell) is noisily shouting down this women's movement, claiming he could beat any female player. And while Billie Jean tries to ignore him, she knows that there's only one way to shut him up for good.

Screenwriter Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire) packs a lot into two hours, digging beneath the story to explore both of these players in their private lives. Billie Jean is questioning her marriage to Larry (Austin Stowell) as she falls for her hairdresser (Andrea Riseborough). And Bobby's gambling obsession is jeopardising his marriage to Priscilla (Elisabeth Shue). The entire cast is terrific at bringing these people to life with scene-stealing quirks that keep the audience smiling. And both Stone and Carell skilfully reveal the resonant internal journeys King and Riggs are taking even as the situation becomes a full-on media circus.

And the project was fairly daunting for the actress, not least because it's her first role as a real person.

Stone appeared on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' to talk about having anxiety therapy when she was just seven.

Emma Stone has spoken more about her battle with anxiety, revealing that she began therapy for dealing with the condition when she was just seven years old.

In a new interview with Stephen Colbert on ‘The Late Show’, the 28 year old Oscar winner spoke about being an “anxious child” and dealing with panic attacks. She brought along a drawing she had done at age nine in one of the therapy sessions, and also spoke about how acting has helped her cope with it as she has grown up.

“So I was nine and in therapy at that time, this is me with anxiety who is a little green monster,” Stone explained about her drawing. “I was a very, very anxious child and I had a lot of panic attacks. I benefited in a big way from therapy - I started it at seven. Acting and improvisation helped me so much.”

The 'La La Land' star earned $26 million over the last 12 months, according to the annual list published by Forbes.

Emma Stone has been named as the highest-paid female actor in Hollywood of the last 12 months, edging out Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lawrence in the annual list published by Forbes.

The 28 year old star made $26 million over the last year, the overwhelming majority of which came from her earnings from her Oscar-winning performance as a barista and aspiring actress in the musical romance La La Land, which made over $445 million worldwide.

“I moved here when I was 15 to start auditioning, I knew what it felt like to go on audition after audition,” Stone said in the run-up to the film’s release.

La La Land Review

Extraordinary

After storming awards season with Whiplash two years ago, writer-director Damien Chazelle returns with something even better: an original movie musical that is shamelessly enjoyable. It somehow manages to be a feel-good triumph as well as a darkly honest exploration of the quest for fame and romance in Los Angeles. And with fantastic songs, colourful choreography and already iconic performances from Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, this is pure cinematic joy.

It opens in a traffic jam on a warm winter's day, where aspiring actress Mia (Stone) first encounters struggling jazz musician Sebastian (Gosling). They meet a couple more times before they begin to share the troubles they are facing trying to make their dreams come true. As romance blossoms, Mia urges Sebastian to go for his passion project to create a proper jazz bar, while Sebastian supports Mia's attempt to write a one-woman show to display her talents. But there are huge pressures to endure and obstacles to overcome as this city pushes them to compromise.

Chazelle establishes the film's musical tone from the opening moment, a breathtaking single-take full-on musical number on a freeway flyover. And the movie only gets better from there, deepening the two central characters as every scene is packed with hilarious comedy, honest romance and wrenching drama. Gosling and especially Stone are perfect in these roles, drawing on their already established chemistry as they add singing and dancing to their repertoires.
