Childhood: Justin Bieber was raised by his mother, Pattie Mallette, in Ontario, Canada. At the age of 12, he entered a local singing competition and came second. Bieber went on to teach himself to play the guitar, drums and the trumpet.

Personal Life: Justin Bieber is a Christian and has previously said that he doesn't believe in abortion and has supported LGBT rights campaigns. His mentor Usher suggested Bieber follow a vegan diet after vomiting on stage in 2012 when he drank milk. He dated Selena Gomez from 2010 to 2012. They briefly re-united but broke up again in 2013.
In 2013, he was attacked by a man in a Toronto nightclub. Security stepped in by Bieber lost his temper and proceeded to launch an angry attack on the man as he was taken to the ground. This is not the only violent scandal Bieber has been involved with; he was caught on camera shouting and attempting to launch himself at a photographer outside his hotel in London that same year. He had also allegedly spat at one of his neighbours following an argument.

Also in Germany, he visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and caused outrage when he wrote in the guest book, 'Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. In 2014 Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach for suspected driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI), driving with an expired license (over sixth months) and resisting arrest. He stated that he had been smoking cannabis and taking prescription drugs. He was released on the grounds of there being a lack of evidence to support his arrest.
