Two ‘90s legends team up for rap masterpiece on ‘Nobody’, taken from Nas’ fourteenth studio album ‘King’s Disease II’. It marks Ms Lauryn Hill’s fourth musical collaboration in the last five years.
It’s been more than 25 years since Nas and Lauryn Hill released their solo debut albums, ‘Illmatic’ and ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ respectively; two albums universally recognised as some of the most iconic rap albums of all time, both even making it into the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry.
More than two decades on these legends show that they’ve lost none of that early talent on ‘Nobody’. The track, like much of the rest of the album and the preceding record ‘King’s Disease’, was co-produced and co-written by Hit-Boy (Beyonce, Kanye West, Travis Scott).
There are clear old-school vibes here, and many are dubbing Nas and Lauryn Hill the King and Queen of Rap. Still, the pair remain hugely underrated despite their insane musical achievements.
Another just over a week before its release date, other collaborations on this epic album include Eminem, EPMD, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, YG, Charlie Wilson and Blxst.
‘King's Disease II’ is out now on Mass Appeal Records.
