Paul O'Grady, Ant And Dec Win Big At 2018 National Television Awards


National Television Awards Ant and Dec Paul O' Grady

British television is celebrated with the arrival of the 23rd National Television Awards. Naturally Ant and Dec bagged the most prizes, but it was Paul O'Grady who was honoured with the annual Special Recognition Award for his work on the small screen for the past 30 years.

This year's ceremony was hosted by Dermot O'Leary and saw the re-naming of the Entertainment Show Award as The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award after the 'Strictly Come Dancing' star, who passed away in August 2017. This year's winner of that very same award was, of course, Ant & Dec.

Billy Connolly Receives Special Recognition At National Television Awards 2016

Last night's National Television Awards was brimming with UK celebrities, all arriving to congratulate the predictable winners, the successful newcomers and, of course, this year's Special Recognition Award recipient which was the much-loved Scottish comic Billy Connolly.

The 2016 awards show actually celebrates fifty years of Connolly's comedy career, and he was branded 'unique' as he was asked to accept his award by Dustin Hoffman. 'I'm delighted to be here to pay tribute to a man whose work I've always admired and whose company I always enjoy', he said. He follows last year's winner David Tennant.

Kelly Brook was among the celebrities braving the January chill for the National Television Awards on Wednesday, 22 January, night at London's O2 Arena. The model and occasional actress was a little braver than most with her choice of outfit however, leaving very little to imagination as she ditched her bra and got lots of lovely free publicity along the way.

Brook wore a black dress with a long seam down the side, showing off her enviable pins, and a pair of strapped, gladiator heels and that's about it really. She may have worn underpants too, but judging by her top half she may have forgone wearing underwear altogether. So, this leaves the question: was this all done as a shameless and to be honest pretty sad attempt at garnering attention? Yes, it probably was.
