Flea and John Frusciante are not fans of shaking hands, according to The Black Keys.
Red Hot Chili Peppers members Flea and John Frusciante allegedly don't like to shake hands with strangers.
The Black Keys' drummer Patrick Carney has revealed he went over to introduce himself to the 'By The Way' group's bassist and guitarist in a restaurant in Madrid, Spain, post-COVID 19, and was stunned when his handshake was rejected and grimaced at.
Patrick told 'The Joe Rogan Experience': "They were sitting there having the most nerdy conversation.
"Like, 'If you augment the 7th...' [We were] kind of like, 'Whoa, they are just such nerds!'"
He continued: "I was like, I'm going to go say what's up.
"I went over and I shook Flea's hand, and then I went to go shake John Frusciante's hand and he's like, 'I don't do that.' And then Flea was like, 'Excuse me, I'm going to go wash my hands.' And they're like, 'We're germaphobes'."
Patrick quipped: "Aren't these guys legendary ex-heroin addicts and ****?"
By contrast, meeting and working with former Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher was a dream.
Patrick told NME last year: "He’s hilarious and super talented. We were referring to him as ‘The Chord Lord’ because he’s just a perfectionist with it.”
