Without doubt the most sonically extraordinary album of this year, 18-year-old Billie Eilish's debut album 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?' has united both pop lovers and alternative listeners thanks to its experimental yet infectious ethos. It's naive yet poignant, fun yet deeply unsettling with themes of bravado, drugs, love, climate change and heartbreak woven throughout the poetic lyrics. There's no-one quite like Billie.

This year has marked quite an explosive end to a decade in terms of music, as we appear to be looking at a future of young musicians doing exactly what they want, how they want, while many long-established artists have refused to compromise their sound to stay relevent. The result is some seriously unapologetic and infectious tunes that will stay on our playlists for a long time to come.

1. Bad Guy - Billie Eilish

She's released without doubt our favourite album of the year with 'When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?' at the age of just 17, and it's almost impossible to pick any one single to talk about here. 'Bad Guy' however is an example of how pop doesn't have to be the stereotypical sound you're used to hearing, because Billie Eilish has seriously changed the way we think about chart music.

Big Thief - U.F.O.F.

This Brooklyn band's new album is their 4AD Records debut and it's everything we could want from an indie-rock album. Female-led bands have become a very welcome trend of late, and Big Thief have already received widespread critical acclaim for their uplifting brand of modern folk that makes for essential summer listening.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - End of Suffering

Following the success of 2017's Modern Ruin, former Gallows frontman Frank Carter returns with his third studio album End of Suffering this week. Two singles have already been released: Crowbar and Anxiety. The album will be released as he continues the UK leg of his tour with his band The Rattlesnakes.

A unique new live concert film from Rammstein is set to hit theatres this Spring, featuring their performances in Paris five years ago. Entitled simply 'Rammstein: Paris', the film hits theaters worldwide ahead of their 2017 Festival Tour and comes just two years after their last live DVD.

Directed by Jonas Åkerlund - who has previously worked with the likes of The Prodigy, Metallica and The Rolling Stones - the concert film features footage from their two shows at the Palais Omnisports arena in Paris in 2012, where they played to an audience of 17,000 songs the likes of 'Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?' and their later hit 'Frühling in Paris'.

This year the festival boasts a stellar line-up with Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden all headlining respectively. But that's not all. With Korn, Deftones, Megadeth, Disturbed, Nightwish and many other bands taking to the stages at this year's Download Festival it is set to be a killer weekend.

In light of the unexpected and sad news of the passing of Motorhead's Lemmy earlier this year, the main stage has aptly been renamed The Lemmy Stage. Rammstein return to Download for the second year to headline on the Lemmy stage on the Friday night and many will be expecting an anarchic live performance. The band are due to be preceded by Korn and Killswitch Engage whom will be attracting veteran rock lovers in large crowds.

German metallers Rammstein have been named as the third and final headlining act for next year’s Download festival. The annual metal festival, which will take place June 10-12, 2016 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, will also be headlined by Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden.

Rammstein will headline next year’s Download Festival along with Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden.

Rammstein will headline on the Friday night, with Black Sabbath taking top billing on the Saturday. The festival will then be closed by Iron Maiden, making their third headlining appearance, on the Sunday evening.
