Miles Teller (born February 20th 1987) is an American actor best known for his appearance in 'The Spectacular Now'.
Childhood: Miles Teller was born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. His parents are real estate agent Merry Teller and nuclear plant worker Mike Teller. Miles lived in various places growing up including Citrus County, Florida and Cape May, New Jersey. He attended Lecanto High School and learned to play the saxophone and the drums, even becoming the drummer for his local youth group's church band. He later attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where he landed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Acting career: Miles Teller started out his acting career with several short films such as 'Moonlighters' (2004), 'A Very Specific Recipe' (2007), 'The Musicians' (2008) and 'The Track Meet' (2010). His first full-length movie was 'Rabbit Hole' in 2010 and the following year he appeared in the remake of 'Footloose', after already appearing in a stage version at school. After roles in 2012's 'Project X' and 2013's '21 & Over', he landed success as the lead in James Ponsoldt's 'The Spectacular Now' opposite Shailene Woodley for which he won a Dramatic Special Jury Award at Sundance. That year he was also cast in the music drama 'Whiplash' in which he uses his real life drumming skills.
In 2014, he appeared alongside Zac Efron and Michael B. Jordan in the comedy 'That Awkward Moment' and worked with Woodley again on teen sci-fi movie 'Divergent'.
Personal life: Miles Teller is currently in a relationship with model Keleigh Sperry.
