Rapper Jay Z Has Requested Officials Seal His Big Pimpin' Lawsuit Deposition, Fearing It Wil Be Leaked To The Media.
The hip-hop mogul has been locked in a California court battle with Osama Ahmed Fahmy since 2007, after he alleged Jay Z's hit song violated his rights to his uncle Baligh Hamdy's composition, Khosara, Khosara, which was released in 1957.
The 99 Problems star has maintained the song is protected under a previous licensing agreement made by the track's producer Timbaland, and the case is now heading for trial with a court date set for Tuesday (13Oct15).
Last week (ends11Oct15), the star petitioned the court to request a watermark be added to his videotaped deposition in a bid to prevent his testimony from being released to the public.
Fahmy has opposed the request, but a ruling has yet to be made.
