John Moore has branded claims Jai Courtney appears in 'A Good Day to Die Hard' to extend the franchise as ''bulls**t''.

The director insists the actor's casting as John McClane's son Jack was a ''naturally occurring story'' and he knows lead star Bruce Willis wouldn't put up with such a ''cynical'' plot device if it had been deliberately created for such purposes.

John said: ''Let me tell you this, God's honest truth, Bruce wouldn't stand for any of that cynical bulls**t. This was a story that Bruce pitched to us, he said, 'I think in this 'Die Hard' it will be good to go find my son.'

''The son has always existed, even in the very first movie he was a little kid, if you remember. I think if the kid hadn't existed and it had been a manufactured pitch, people would be rightly cynical and go, 'Oh f**k off'' but this is a very naturally occurring story, somewhere along the line people said, 'Its a franchise torch passing.' ''

And John knows if fans are unhappy with the direction the latest movie in the action series takes, they will make their feelings known.

Speaking at the movie's premiere at the Empire Leicester Square on Thursday (07.02.13), he told BANG Showbiz: ''You know what it doesn't matter what we plan, people will either vote, or not vote with their feet.''
