The word Brexit didn’t exist just two tiny years ago but here we are, 18 months later, and it’s all any one seems to be able to talk about. Now veteran actor Michael Caine has joined the conversation and hailed the historic referendum result as a “vote for freedom”.
Michael Caine voiced his support for Brexit
The Batman actor has insisted everything with be "alright" after the UK leaves the EU and said he was keen for Great Britain to quit the European Union to give the country control over its own affairs.
The 84-year-old British star spoke to Sky News and described politics as "chaotic" and that his decision to Vote Leave was about freedom and not immigrants.
Speaking about his opinion, Caine said: "I voted for Brexit... what it is with me... I'd rather be a poor master than a rich servant.

"Politics is always chaotic, you're always going in new areas where you've never been before.
"So, you're going to get lost... and then you're going to find your way, and it'll be alright."
He added: "It wasn’t about the racism, immigrants or anything, it was about freedom."
Millionaire Sir Michael became the first big celebrity to back Brexit at the start of 2016 and attacked the EU’s "faceless dictators".

Former Justice Secretary and leave campaigner, Michael Gove, spoke out in support of his namesake’s comments and said: "I love Michael Caine. He’s the kind of expert I like."
Caine was speaking out as he promoted his new film, Going in Style, about a trio of retirees, played by Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin, who plan to rob a bank after their pensions are cancelled.
The film is a remake of the 1979 film of the same name that starred George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg and is released in cinemas tomorrow.
