The In Da Club hitmaker filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July (15) and undertook a debt education class to manage his assets, which he estimates are valued between between $10 million (£6.3 million) and $50 million (£31.3 million).

To help ease his debts, the rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, is planning to rent out his lavish 21-bedroom mansion in Connecticut, but it has now been revealed he is also working on a new property in Africa.

Jackson uploaded a video to Instagram.com showing workers completing construction in the grounds near a swimming pool.

In the caption, he writes, "My crib is almost finished in Africa. I'm gonna have the craziest house warming party ever. I'll explain later. I got a good life man."

He has not revealed any further details about the location of the property.
