What was once mooted, is now true; Adele is set to perform the Oscar nominated song Skyfall in front of the Academy Award audience come the 24th of February, on a night that could only be more special for her if the Bond film wins Best Original Song.

She said: "It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once." Adele - who has recently given birth to a baby boy, who, if reports are to be trusted, is called Angelo - decide to lend her powerful voice to the Bond tune aswell as co-writing it after a lengthy hiatus.

Even if Skyfall doesn't get the coveted Oscar nod, it can still boast a Golden Globe. Collecting the prize, the new mum said,  "Oh my God - honestly, I came out for a night out with my friend Ayda - we're new mums. We've literally come for a night out," adding, "I was not expecting this. It's very strange to be here - thank you so much for letting me be a part of your world for a night. It's amazing, we've been pissing ourselves laughing at all of it." She went on: "And this is for my boyfriend Simon who convinced me to do it and for my lovely son - thank you so much."
