British Pop Star Adele Is Hoping To Launch An Acting Career Following The Release Of Her New Album 25.
The Rolling In The Deep star teamed up with Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan on the video for her new single Hello, and Adele admits working with the director has inspired her to pursue projects in Hollywood.
"After doing my music video, I'm sure I'll get some flak for this, but I actually would like to act after working with Xavier Dolan who is truly, truly amazing and his films are incredible," she tells British radio station KISS FM. "I would be in a film for him definitely. I don't like it when those singers start acting, it makes them mediocre. But I don't quite know what I'd be cast as anyway."
Adele already has Hollywood's top award, an Oscar, which she won for her James Bond theme tune Skyfall.
During the interview, the singer goes on to reveal that becoming a mother to her son Angelo has changed the way she thinks about her career, because she is desperate to make her little boy proud.
"He's completely changed the way I think about everything," she adds. "He actually makes me really proud of myself with the success of (album) 21 and everything and even like the Bond stuff. I've never been proud of myself but when I had him I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm making a legacy here you know'. Sure I still mess up sometimes and say something stupid."
Adele's new album 25 is due for release next month (Nov15), and she is set to showcase her new music in an upcoming TV special, Adele at the BBC.
The Hello singer will perform a range of old songs and tracks from 25 with a live band during the special, which will also feature an interview about her life and career so far. It is due for broadcast in November (15).
