Adele has rubbished Damon Albarn's claim that she's ''insecure''.

The 'Hello' hitmaker worked with Damon for a number of tracks on her new album '25', but none of the records made the cut, prompting Damon to publicly criticise Adele's attitude.

However, she's since hit back at the Blur star, telling Rolling Stone magazine: ''It ended up being one of those 'don't meet your idol' moments. And the saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan, growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him.''

Adele said the only reason she didn't include their collaborations on her new album is because ''none of it was right'' for the much-anticipated record.

She said: ''None of it suited my record. He said I was insecure, when I'm the least insecure person I know.''

Adele also admitted she was surprised by the criticism, having been so open with her collaborator.

She said: ''I was asking his opinion about my fears, about coming back with a child involved - because he has a child - and then he calls me insecure!''
