Adele's father Mark Evans - who split from her mother Penny when the singer was just three years-old - has reached out in a bid to repair their broken relationship. Evans spoke out to the Mail on Sunday in a bid to get in contact with his daughter, claiming he wants to meet his daughter's son Angelo James, who was born in October.
"I've left messages on her phone, I've written to her and I've sent her birthday and Christmas cards but it's like I'm dead to her. I'm not interested in her celebrity status or her money, I just want my daughter back and I want to be a proper granddad to the little one," Evans explained, claiming he learned he was going to be a granddad via the media. "I found out the same way that she's calling the baby Angelo James. I'd hoped so much that she'd put my late dad's name, John, in there somewhere, but alas it looks as if it is not going to be." Adele raged to Vogue magazine last year about her father's speaking to the media. "It blows my mind. 'I love her so much.' Really? Why are you telling me that through a newspaper? If I ever see him I will spit in his face."
Adele's multi-million selling album 21 propelled her to become one of the world's biggest and richest stars. According to Forbes, the 24 year-old earned $35 million between May 2011 and May 2012 and is thought to be worth around $60 million in total.
