Sometimes celebrities do things that really restore your faith in humanity. Adele is the latest star to do that as she takes time out of her busy schedule to stop by a terminally ill fan's house to pay a visit ahead of her Belfast show.

The 'Hello' hitmaker was kicking off her world tour in the Northern Ireland capital but was moved to put her touring duties on hold when a campaign to get her to send a message to a sick fan caught her attention. Tracy Gibney took to Change.org to plead with Adele to make contact with her 12-year-old daughter Rebecca, who is currently bedbound but finds joy in Adele's music.

'I have a very sick daughter who has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, can't walk or talk and is tube-fed, she has recently became bed-bound. She listens to Adele from she gets up in the morning until her bedtime', Gibney said. 'All I am asking for is for Adele to FaceTime wee Rebecca or send her a video message. It would be her dream come true, Please, please help me for my beautiful sick little daughter.'

It wasn't long before the situation was circulated to her managers and Adele decided to surprise little Rebecca by going the extra mile and turning up at her house. Rebecca is also blind and isn't expected to live longer than six months, but she was overjoyed when her hero showed up especially to see her.

'I can't believe it, I'm just over the Moon', Tracy told the Belfast Telegraph. 'My daughter got to meet the person that she loved, and that's what I'll always take with me for the rest of my life. Adele played with her hair and held her hand and asked her all about Frozen. She was really lovely.'

Tracy admitted to Belfast Live that she was in the hairdressers when she received a phone call that she was to expect a visit from the popstar, and she quickly abandoned her styling session to return home, determined to keep it private.

Adele even offered the family tickets to her two sold-out concerts at the SSE Arena, something which she seems to have developed a habit of doing. When Voice of Ireland 2015 winner Patrick James Tweeted that he had missed out on a ticket for her Dublin show, Adele was only too happy to help. 'I'll sort you out my love, can't have you missing this one x', she wrote back.

Adele continues her UK and Ireland leg with appearances in Manchester, London, Birmingham and Glasgow.
