If you’ve been sat on the fence trying to decide whether or not to place a bet on Adele winning her Oscar category for the Bond theme tune Skyfall, then you probably should have just gone out and done it. Since winning a Golden Globe for the song last night, the bookies have slashed their odds for the British singer to walk away with the highly-coveted golden statuette next month as well.

According to entertainmentwise.com, Ladbrokes have reduced their odds to 2/5 after Adele picked up the Golden Globe last night. Accepting the award, she said “Oh my God. Oh my God. Honestly, I’ve come out for a night out with my friend. We’re new Mums. We’ve literally come for a night out, I was not expecting this.” Not a bad night out, if all she was hoping for was a brief escape from her new life as a mum. “It’s very strange to be here and thank you so much for letting me be part of your world for a night. It’s amazing, we’ve been p****** ourselves, you know.” She then went on to thank her partner Simon Konecki, saying “This is for my boyfriend who convinced me to do it and for my lovely son.”

The 24 year-old revealed that she had had the script for a long time before she agreed to record the Bond theme, noting that it was a “big responsibility.”
