20th Century Women Trailer

Jamie doesn't live a normal life, he's raised by his single mom and lives in a house occupied by tenants. It's the start of the summer of 1979 in Santa Barbara and Dorothea Fields is not only the matriarch of her little family but she also looks over the young people that seem to join her household.

At that moment in time the world was experiencing much turmoil and uncertainty as well as huge gains in personal freedom and all these things convinced Dorothea to ask other women involved in Jamie's life to help mould and shape him into a well-adjusted person. Mother's and Son's often have tumultuous relationships and Jamie loves his mom but can't help but constantly think that she's a know it all with all the answers.

Abbie is a young lodger in the household and becomes particularly influential in Jamie's life, she's a free spirit with a punk attitude to life that really appeals to the teenager attempting to find himself. Whilst his next door neighbour Julie is going through some issues of her own but also becomes a huge influence on the boy's life.

Green Room - Teaser Trailer

The Ain't Rights are a punk band looking for their big break and until that comes along, they're willing to tour and play any gig they're offered. When the band is given the chance to play a gig at short notice, they pack their bags and road trip to the Oregon venue.

The band work through their set of songs including a cover of The Dead Kennedys' track 'Nazi Punks F**k Off', some might say an odd choice of song given the current crowd of people they're playing to. As the band come off stage they return to the green room only to discover that they've stumbled upon a gruesome crime scene - a murder to be precise.

Locked in the green room and quickly evaluating their options, it seems that they're now the ones being targeted by the vicious venue owner, Darcy Banker, and his neo-Nazi gang. Held against their will, with no connection to the outside world, it becomes evident that Banker isn't going to allow the group to make it through the night alive.

The Runaways Review

Very Good
A fascinating exploration of the effects of fame on young people, this true story is sharply directed and acted. It's also great to see a film about girl power that's this realistic and resonant. And packed with such great songs.

At only 15, Cherie Currie (Fanning) is overwhelmed when Joan Jett (Stewart) asks her to front her band The Runaways. With the encouragement of music promoter Kim Fowley (Shannon), Cherie becomes an iconic presence on stage and off, propelling the group into previously uncharted territory as female rockers. And while Joan and the other bandmates (Maeve, Taylor-Compton and Shawkat) take the lifestyle in their stride, Cherie is continually drawn back to her big sister (Keough) and absent parents (O'Neal and Cullen).

Rebound Review

Weak
Martin Lawrence plays his usual immature, loud-mouthedclown in "Rebound," an underdog sports comedy for kids so predictablethat director Steve Carr doesn't even bother with scenes of its basketballteam of 13-year-old misfits discovering their skills and a love of thegame. He just assumes you know the formula and keeps the movie's focuson Lawrence, playing an egomaniac coach who is booted out of college ballfor his temper and can't get a job anywhere except back at his old juniorhigh school.

A fundamentally unappealing jerk whose redemption comeswith an even shorter and less convincing story arc, coach Roy McCormickignores the kids one day -- pouting about his downfall on the sidelinesas they lose a game 84-0 -- then the next he's become a life-affirmingaltruist full of feel-good advice and game-winning strategy, just becausethe script says so.

Even more problematic is that while "Rebound"is aimed at children, the one-trait tweenagers he's teaching to play thegame are barely characters at all, save Tara Correa ("Judging Amy")as a stout, scowling girl bully McCormick recruits to intimidate otherteams. "You got five fouls," he advises her with a wiseacre wink."Don't be afraid to use 'em."

Somehow this sloppy, mechanical movie (even the minimalgame scenes lack vibrancy) manages to dig up some energy and spirit inthe last act, which keeps it from collapsing under the weight of its ownineptitude. Kids may like it, not knowing enough to recognize its failureto relate to them, and accompanying parents won't want to claw their eyesout.
