A special Oscars segment featuring Batkid was cancelled due to "the logistics of production". Batkid A.K.A. Miles Scott is the 5-year-old who helped save Gotham (San Francisco) from the Penguin and the Riddler when his wish came true with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Batkid may not have been around to save Leonardo di Caprio from another evening of Oscar disappointment but he's been enjoying himself with Spiderman at Disneyland. Batkid A.K.A. Miles Scott and Spiderman actor Andrew Garfield were due to make an appearance at the Oscars on Sunday (2nd March) as part of Ellen DeGeneres' hosting. Unfortunately their segment was cancelled much to the disappointment of Batkid fans.
Andrew Garfield stars in The Amazing Spiderman and its upcoming sequel.
You may remember Batkid A.K.A. Miles Scott from November of last year when he helped save Gotham (San Francisco) from the evil schemes of the Penguin and the Riddler. 5-year-old Miles had suffered from leukaemia since he was 18 months old. in November, following the news of his remission, the Make-A-Wish Foundation took over San Francisco so Miles had the opportunity to be his favourite superhero for the day.
On November 15th, Miles was escorted around San Francisco with an adult Batman driving a Lamborghini decked out as a Batmobile. Along the way he rescued a damsel in distress, defeated the Penguin and foiled the Riddler's bank robbery. Thousands of people lined the streets of San Francisco to cheer Miles on and Batkid even received a special message from President Barack Obama.

Miles alongside Garfield, who plays Spiderman in the Amazing Spiderman movies, was due to make an appearance at the Oscars. The evening was superhero themed and, as part of Ellen DeGeneres hosting, Miles was meant to be appearing in a small segment with Garfield. Unfortunately, as THR discovered, the segment was cancelled "due to the logistics of production."
Nevertheless, all was not lost for Batkid as he and his family enjoyed a day out with Garfield at Disneyland on Monday (3rd March).
