The rumors are true!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will reunite on the big-screen for the first time in nine years to co-star in the Universal drama 'By the Sea.'

The 38 year-old actress has wrote and will direct the character driven movie, and the celebrity power couple will also be producing the project, Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures, announced on Friday (July 18th).

"Angelina continues to showcase her extraordinary storytelling abilities in front of and behind the camera and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with her on By the Sea," said Langley in a statement.

Adding, "Angelina and Brad represent two of Hollywood's brightest talents and we are excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece."

Jolie is currently directing 'Unbroken,' depicting the true story of war hero and Olympian Louis Zamperini, which is based on Laura Hillenbrand's best-seller.

"I am very happy to continue my relationship with Donna and the entire Universal team as I finish Unbroken and begin work on By the Sea," she said. "They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker."

Pitt and Jolie last shared the big-screen nine years ago in 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which was both a critical and commercial success as it earned $478 million at the box office worldwide.

The 'Maleficent' actress spoke of finishing 'By the Sea' back in May, saying "it's not a big movie, not an action movie. It's the kind of movie we love, but aren't often cast in. It's a very experimental, independent type film where we get to be actors together and be really raw, open, try things."

The pair are now parents to six children and are currently engaged.
