Angelina Jolie discusses joining the 'Disney Family' for her role as the antagonist Maleficent featured in Walt Disney's 1959 original film Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent is Disney's latest rebranding of an original story viewed from the perspective of the villain, Maleficent is, which Jolie is proud to point out, a first for Disney. Jolie discusses her character design and personal portrayal stating she: 'Wanted to pay respect to the original'.
The film stars Jolie as Maleficent alongside, the newly assigned, Doctor Who Peter Capaldi as King Kinloch and District 9 star Sharlto Copley as Stefan.
Maleficent is due for release 2nd July 2014.
