Singing Legend Aretha Franklin Is To Headline A Concert At The White House Celebrating Gospel Music.
The veteran star will take to the stage at the official residence of U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday (14Apr15) for the special event, which is part of the In Performance at the White House concert series.
Legendary songwriter/producer T-Bone Burnett is in charge of the songs as executive music director, while other performers include Emmylou Harris, Darlene Love, Lyle Lovett and Shirley Caesar, and President Obama is expected to make an address.
The performers will also participate in a workshop in the hours before the concert to teach students from schools across the country about gospel music.
