An unfinished memoir by Bob Dylan's road manager that was feared lost forever has been completed after a fire uncovered audio and videotapes made by the late author.

Victor Maymudes met Dylan in 1961 and became the folk legend's road manager and friend. He signed a contract in 2000 for $150,000 (£100,000) to write a book about his life with the musician but died unexpectedly a few months later, leaving it unfinished.

Following a blaze at the author's home in New Mexico in January (13), Maymudes' son Jacob discovered a strongbox containing audio tapes and 8mm film his father had made in preparation for the book, which allowed Jacob to complete his father's work.

Another Side of Bob Dylan will chronicle the Blowin' In The Wind singer's formative years in New York's Greenwich Village, where he and Maymudes met, as well their time touring in the 1980s and '90s.
