Hollywood's most powerful couple are set to share the big-screen once again.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will act opposite each other in the same film for the first time since starring in 'Mr and Mrs Smith' nine years ago, Deadline reports.

Little information is known as of yet, but the pair's upcoming movie project was reportedly penned by Jolie.

Whenever it happens, the end result will most likely be special to the superstars as their last on-screen encounter was famously known as the beginning of their high-profile romance.

Virtually no detail has been released on the project but The Hollywood Reporter notes several insiders believe it will be a "relationship drama" which Jolie wrote a few years ago.

'Mr and Mrs Smith' was both a critical and commercial success as it earned $478 million at the box office worldwide.

The film portrays a very normal couple whose relationship becomes very intense when they each find out their spouse's secret, they are both assassins for secret agencies. Things become even more complicated when Pitt and Jolie find out their new targets are each other, but as the film progresses so does their love for each other, and instead of finishing their mission they decide to join forces.

The 50 year-old actor was previously married to 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston when making this movie, and shortly after filming wrapped up they filed for divorce.

"Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love," Jolie told the New York Times in a 2008 interview about meeting Pitt onset.
