The Fight Club star gives us a rare insight into his past
As one of the world’s biggest stars, we rarely get an insight into Brad Pitt’s life. At the moment, it seems pretty good, but according to the 49-year-old actor, it used to resemble that of Floyd – his character in the cult hit, True Romance.
“For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing. I spent years f***ing off,” Pitt told Esquire U.S. in his rare and candid interview. “But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change… This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany.”
Jennifer Aniston [L] Was Previously Married To Brad Pitt, Now The Partner of Angelina Jolie [R]
Brad, who stars in the upcoming zombie-apocalyptical Day Z, says his life comprised “sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out.” Ahem, Floyd. Floyd sitting on his sofa puffing away and getting visits from angry gangsters. Pitt admitting to wasting a bit of time on drugs during his previous marriage has been construed as a subtle attack on Jennifer Anniston, whom he was married to, famously, for five years. Since then, Pitt found love with Angelina Jolie, and they like wine, furniture and adopting African kids. That’s what you do when you’re rich and famous.
