Beach Boys Legend Brian Wilson Is To Play A Special Concert To Raise Funds For A Mental Health Charity.
The veteran musician, who spent much of his younger life as a recluse after developing schizophrenia in the 1960s, is backing Campaign to Change Direction, an initiative which aims to erase the stigma around mental health issues in the U.S.
Wilson will play a fundraising gig for Give an Hour, a charity providing free mental health care to war veterans, on 4 November (15) and he is proud to be involved with the scheme.
He says, "My wife, Melinda, and I are very excited to be a part of this important campaign, not only to bring awareness to the mental health issues faced by millions of Americans, but also to encourage everyone to learn the five signs of emotional suffering. It's time for us to bring the conversation of mental health in America out of the shadows, and the Campaign to Change Direction is leading the way."
