Carrie Fisher, the American actress best known for playing 'Princess Leia' in Star Wars and appearing in the romantic-comedy 'When Harry Met Sally', says she persuaded herself to lose weight after reading "hurtful" comments on Internet blogs, reports People Magazine. Fisher was speaking after being announced as the new spokesperson for diet company 'Jenny Craig'.
The actress joins Jason Alexander and Valerie Bertinelli as the celebrity faces of the company and she has vowed to continue shedding the pounds after losing a stone so far. The 54-year-old spoke candidly about her weight, saying, "I'm fat. All the clothes in my closet belong to another chick. They have to make a new alphabet for my bra size". Fisher says she has eaten her way up to 180 pounds but revealed that reading humiliating comments on Internet blogs encouraged her to begin losing weight, she said, "I look on the Internet and they say, 'Whatever happened to Carrie Fisher? She used to be so hot and now she looks like Elton John. I was really hurt".
Fisher's most recent television appearance saw her feature in the US drama series 'Entourage' last year, however, she has voiced the character of 'Angela' in the hit animated comedy 'Family Guy' since 2005.
