Acting career: Jennifer Lawrence's acting career began when she appeared on the family-centred show 'The Bill Engvall Show' on TBS and subsequently won a Young Artist Award. In 2008 she won roles in 'Garden Party' and 'The Burning Plain' which earned her another award, before also embarking on another project, 'The Poker House', earning yet another accolade. In 2010 she was the lead actress in the drama movie 'Winter's Bone' for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress as well as a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award and won eleven awards altogether. In 2011 Jennifer was in the controversial movie 'The Beaver' and later appeared as the villain Mystique in 'X-Men: First Class'. In 2012, she was in novel-to-film dystopia thriller 'The Hunger Games' where she won four Teen Choice Awards and two MTV Awards and become the highest-grossing action heroine of all time. She also appeared on the big screen for thriller 'House at the End of the Street' and rom com 'Silver Linings Playbook' alongside Bradley Cooper. The latter landed her an Academy Award. In 2013, she was in gangster movie 'American Hustle' with Christian Bale and subsequently won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.
Personal Life: Jennifer Lawrence grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. Her parents are Karen and Gary Lawrence; Karen runs a children's summer camp which Jennifer helped out at between acting and school and her father formerly owned a construction firm called Lawrence & Associates. Jennifer attended Kammerer Middle School but left early to embark on an acting career. After being a part of local theatre from a young age, at 14 she went to New York to find an agent. She dated 'X-Men' co-star Nicholas Hoult from 2011 to 2013. The briefly reunited but soon separated the following year.
