Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus has joined Thin Lizzy to replace Vivian Campbell as he makes his return to Def Leppard.
Campbell began playing for the band last year (10) during a break from his regular job with the Hysteria hitmakers, but he is now preparing to rejoin Def Leppard ahead of the group's upcoming 2011 tour dates.
The stars of Thin Lizzy announced his replacement at the final show of the band's U.S. tour in Chicago, Illinois on Friday (01Apr11), by bringing Guns N' Roses star Fortus on stage to play a couple of songs.
Campbell will play one more gig with Thin Lizzy at Slane Castle in County Meath, Ireland on 28 May (11) before Fortus takes over full time. In a post on his Facebook.com page, Campbell writes, "Well, that was it: my last U.S. show with Lizzy - and it was a great one to end on. New guitarist Richard Fortus came and played a couple of songs. I have one final gig with them in Ireland, and the very next day we start Def Lep rehearsals."
