The Theory of Everything star has taken on the role of steam train Ryan in Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure, which premiered on TV in America on Monday (12Oct15).

Producer Ian MCCue tells TV Guide magazine, "He (Redmayne) grew up loving Thomas the Tank Engine... This was very special."

The movie also features the voices of Twilight star Jamie Campbell Bower and Harry Potter's John Hurt.
