In the past, actress Portia De Rossi has clearly stated that she and her wife Ellen DeGeneres do not want or plan to have children, nevertheless there have been recent reports suggesting that the happy couple are looking to start a family.

Both Ellen and Portia wasted no time in addressing these rumours and setting the record straight once again, so on Tuesday (Oct 14tH) the talk show host jokingly quizzed her partner on if they are wanting to become mothers.

"One of the main things that everybody's asking me about and asking you about, and I thought I would let you clear it up is if we're having a baby or not," DeGeneres said to de Rossi.

"It would be so fun for everybody if we were, wouldn't it?" the 'Scandal' actress replied, confirming they aren't having children. "Did you see (the magazine cover that) says, 'They're finally starting a family,' Are people really that mad at us?"

"Yeah, we've waited way too long," DeGeneres said. "Craig, my assistant, asked if I'm keeping something from him because it's so prevalent that everyone assumes we really are having a baby and we're just not sharing it. So we might be having a baby we're just not sharing it."

"This is just one big act, ya know. That'd be pretty clever of us," de Rossi added.

The married couple, who tied the knot at their Beverly Hills home in 2008, have never even thought about having children, de Rossi told Out magazine last year. "You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did. So it's just going to be me and Ellen and no babies," she said.
