We love Emma Watson; you mustn’t get us wrong, but we’ve looked up the word Trailblazer, and we can’t see what MTV are getting at. Still they’ve named the Harry Potter star their Trailblazer for 2013.

See, a trailblazer (and we’ll stop saying that word soon) means either a person who makes a new track through wild country or a pioneer, an innovator. We’re not sure how many new tracks Watson has formed through wild country, and is she an innovator? Perhaps we’re taking this too literally. We’ll hand this over to Mr. President. “Emma Watson endeared herself to fans as one of the most beloved and iconic characters of her generation and did so again this past year as she seamlessly transformed into the role of Sam from yet another modern day classic in The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” Stephen Friedman, President of MTV, said. “She’s been a constant presence in the lives of our audience for more than a decade and is continuing to challenge her craft with upcoming roles as radically diverse as her enormous talent."

Emma WatsonIt's Emma Watson, or is it? It's not

Ah, okay, we get it now. Emma Stone grabbed the prize last year after she traversed a previously un-walked path in the New Forest near Southampton. Hang on; sorry, we haven’t quite got the hang of this new award just yet. This probably isn’t even the most important news on Watson’s radar, as she’s been erected in wax form at London’s Madame Tussauds. Trailblazing indeed.
