Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel have welcomed Axl Jack Duhamel into the world! The 38-year-old singer gave birth on Thursday 29th August in L.A. Their son is named after the lead singer of Guns N Roses, Axl Rose.

Fergie arrived at Cedars Sinai hospital in L.A. on Thursday 29th August just in time to go under the knife for a C-section. The Black Eyed Peas singer is expecting a child with her husband Josh Duhamel. According to sources, speaking to TMZ, neither Fergie nor her husband was particularly worried about the pre-scheduled procedure. Duhamel was seen chatting to nurses whilst Fergie prepared in pre-op. 

When Axl arrived, he weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds 7 ounces (Fergie's representative told the US entertainment website). According to TMZ's sources, Fergie will be recovering from her C-section in the same suite preciously enjoyed by Kim Kardashian.

Axl is the 38-year-old's first child. Fergie, whose real name is Stacey Ann Ferguson, met in 2004 and married in 2009. Fergie is best known for her solo career after fronting The Black Eyed Peas, whilst Duhamel is an actor best known for his roles in Safe Haven, New Year's Eve and Life as We Know It. 

Fergie and Duhamel are not the only celebrity couple to welcome a baby into their family this year. Most recently, Kim Kardashian gave birth to North with Kanye West; Jessica Simpson had Ace Knute and Michael Buble had a child, Noah, with his model wife Luisana Lopilato.
