Green Day - Wake me up when September ends Single Review
I honestly think this is the best single to come from the Californian punk band's album American Idiot
What perfect vocals, lyrics, drums and guitar to accompany a brilliant video featuring Billy Elliott actor Jamie Bell.
Released on June 13 th , this single is the latest from there politically standing album and oozes class, quality and intense and very intimate lyrics. It almost has similar life experiences as written by Billie Jo Armstrong in Good Riddance however nothing comes close to this!
When I first heard this song, I almost cried! The song is the key song for me from their amazingly ninth album as it applies to the September 11 th attacks.
However, this song is not a slanging match with the American Government; it discovers uncovered depths by touching nerves of fans throughout the world.
The most intimate line is the innocent can never last This just makes the message of the song totally clear it makes us remember what was fought for and who we lost whilst they did this.
If you want to check the guys out this year, they're going to be performing at Milton Keynes National Bowl on 18 th and 19 th June 2005 .
Also check them out in Dublin at the Oxygen Festival on 9 th July and in Scotland at the T in the Park on 10 th July.
Absolutely love this track my favourite Green Day song by far!!!
