The amount of parents forcing their sons into this will be unreal...
Ironically, the majority of people reading this will be too old to audition for Peter Pan – the boy who would never grow up, but get your sons to pop down and audition. You never know.
Don't worry Peter Pan fans, David Hasselhoff won't be involved one bit
Boys of all ethnicities – it would be quite cool to see a Middle Eastern Peter Pan – are being invited, provided they’re aged 11 to 13, to come down and audition for the role.
Auditions will be held at London's Wembley Arena on 23 February at 10:00 GMT. Film bosses said "the role of Peter is described as a courageous and adventurous orphaned boy living in a world of fantasy and dreams, which sometimes leads him into trouble".
Prospective Pans must be no taller than 5ft 4in (165cm) an accompanied by a parent or guardian, say the rules. Although some free spirit turning up without a watchful adult might just capture the attention of the casting director. Again, you never know.
The project, which is helmed by Atonement director JOE WRIGHT, stars Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard. Garret Hedlund is set to play evil pirate Captain Hook while Academy-Award winner Javier Bardem is also tipped for a role.
Wright's version of the classic – dreamed up by Scottish novelist and playwright JM Barrie -will be a drastic departure from past adaptations of the Peter Pan story which included 'Hook' starring Robin Williams in 1991 and Disney's 1953 animation classic.
The last live-action film to adapt Barrie's novel was Peter Pan, released in 2003. Directed by PJ Hogan, it starred American actor Jeremy Sumpter, when he was 14. It is due to be released in July 2015. Blockbuster territory.
