The singer announced his intention to take a break from live performing earlier this month releasing a statement saying "After many years of performing in a multitude of configurations, Jack White is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time.”

Tickets for White’s concerts were priced at just $3, with the venues usually being announced on the morning of the gigs. However some savvy fans of the singer in North Dakota guessed that White’s next performance would be at the Fargo theatre and were already camping out for tickets when the venue was announced, according to the city’s Inforum.

The Rapid City Journal has also worked out that all five stops on the acoustic tour have something in common. They were all cities which were scheduled to be part of the White Stripes' 2007 fall tour, but whose concerts were canceled after Meg White suffered from acute anxiety.
